Smyrna Takes a Splash Forward with Plans for New Aquatics Center and Splash Pad 🌊

Smyrna is diving into its next big community project with the development of a brand-new aquatics center and splash pad at Tolleson Park. These projects aim to bring fresh energy and family-friendly amenities to the city, continuing the trend of revitalization and growth that’s already shaping Smyrna’s future.

The aquatics center, still in the conceptual stages, promises a layout filled with water features and programs that will appeal to the whole family. City officials and the design team are working closely to ensure the new facility will elevate the current Tolleson Park amenities, making it a central hub for community activity. To jumpstart this effort, plans for an early demolition and site preparation package are already underway, setting the stage for the larger project to unfold.

The splash pad, a much-anticipated addition, is also nearing its next phase of development. The design team is in the process of finalizing construction documents, which will soon be open for bids. This sprayground-style feature is expected to bring a fresh wave of fun for Smyrna residents of all ages once it’s completed.

This aquatic investment aligns with the city’s broader vision of community-driven growth, with plenty of projects already in the works. From the recent steps taken toward redeveloping the nearly nine-acre Smyrna First Baptist Church property as part of the “Downtown the Downtown” initiative to the city's upcoming rebranding efforts, Smyrna is making bold moves toward the future.
